Each one inch thick piece of the 3 piece slate have been carved straight out of a mountain in Brazil, and have proven to be the worlds' strongest slate. One of the biggest problems with buying a pool table is settling on a size. Says Kerry Rhodes, owner of A Better Billiard Supply in Las Cruces, N.M., "The first thing is that a lot of people call up and ask for a regulation table. By BCA specs, anything that meets BCA specs is a regulation table. In a customer's home, the priority in the decision-making process should be, "Are we going to be able to use 58" cues?" A good rule of thumb is to allow 4' 6" on each side of the table. More is better. Less means using shorter cues. Refer to the chart
(found here) to determine how big of a table will fit in the space you have available for it.
